4 Part Degrassi Blogging Series: FiClan Incest

Degrassi has always “Gone There,” but this season DEGRASSI takes it to the X-TREME! I find it funny that people thought I was insane for even thinking about a storyline like this. Now people are coming on the bandwagon with me and I couldn’t be more proud. Degrassi has always gone there and Season 10 will not surprise me because the writers have proven that they will shy away from NOTHING!

I have always thought that FiClan were a little closer than they ought to be, so it comes to no surprise that they would try this storyline. Holly J has always been disliked by Fiona. Giving her an evil star or an attitude. When Fiona saw that Declan gave Holly J her grandmother’s watch she told Holly J “Oh, I thought he was saving that for somebody special.” Annie Clark plays that character well. It so believeable and real.

The only reason I could see Fiona having these feelings is that she has moved around the world all the time and the only constant is her brother, Declan. The more you are around a person the more you will develop an attraction to them. It sounds like they don’t get to develop emotional relationships that are stable because they move around so much. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a little strange, but I am looking forward to this storyline the most. Mainly because it’s something we aren’t supposed to talk about.

So, what will happen after the kiss? Can you imagine kissing your sibling and the awkwardness that will ensue? That is something I would never get over. Its something that Declan might never get past. Maybe go into a deep depression or maybe suicide? I know people say that i’m thinking too much into what actually COULD happen, but the same people said that about the incest. This could happen people, so get used to the idea. From what i’m hearing Declan isn’t even on set.

Honestly, Degrassi needs a suicide but I hope it’s not Declan. He is such a good character. Annie Clark and Landon Libioron (hope i spelled that right) are such good actors and have made there characters my top ones in the show.

One thing’s for sure, I would never send my child to Degrassi. Rape, school shooting, stabbing, gonorrhea outbreak, a possible HIV scare and other drama. Degrassi Goes There and even though its fun to watch, I wonder why the new students? They have a 50/50 shot at surviving high school.
